PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY

 

BILLET MARINE’S LIMITED WARRANTY

  • Long Block Engines – 6 months/50 hours/6000 miles
  • Complete Marine/Race Use – Dyno Time only
  • Short Block Engines – 6 months/50 hours/6000 miles
  • ENGINES USED FOR RACING OR MARINE APPLICATIONS HAVE NO WARRANTY.

 PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW CAREFULLY:

BILLET MARINE warrants to the purchaser that it will repair or replace, at BILLET MARINE ’S option, during normal working hours, any new or remanufactured part, drive, short block, long block or complete assembly that fails due to faulty workmanship or defective new parts provided by BILLET MARINE during the warranty period, when properly installed, and under normal use and service for the period of time or mileage/hours from date of installation as specified below. 

This Limited Warranty is not an unconditional guarantee against all failures or hazards.

  • Labor is paid only if the repair work is authorized in advance by BILLET MARINE .
  • BILLET MARINE has first right to refusal for all repairs, parts and labor.
  • BILLET MARINE will not be responsible for oil, filter, coolant, towing charges, car rental, down time, loss of use, lodging, phone calls, damage due to accident, damage caused by collision, fire, theft, freezing, inconvenience, commercial loss, vandalism, riot, explosion, objects striking the engine or the vehicle, or any other consequential or resulting losses or damages of any nature whatsoever related to the warranty claim.

WARRANTY EXCEPTIONS

This warranty does not apply to any unit improperly installed or failure caused due to overheating, over revving, high water pressure, low fuel pressure, inadequate fuel supply, unwashed parts or defective components that are transferred from the old engine, such as oil pump, front cover, filter, cylinder heads, push rods, rocker arms, lifters, clogged coolers/radiators, carburetors, etc. not furnished with the rebuilt unit.  Warranty also does not apply to units modified in any way, abused, mistreated, improperly broken in, oil starved, units with pre-ignition or detonation problems, burned or melted pistons, or operated under conditions causing greater than normal wear, or used for purposes other than it was originally designed for; or when engine is operated on any fuel other than the correct octane gasoline or higher except when specified by BILLET MARINE for use with other fuel; or when engine is specified for specific use is installed in a boat, pickup, truck, van or Class B or C recreational vehicle; or when vehicles odometer/hour meter is inoperable; or when engine failure is due to thrust, bearing damage; or when engine is installed in a Class A motor home/recreational vehicle or racing craft.  Timing specifications and boost limits must be limited to those as designed by BILLET MARINE.  Any Timing, Boost, Mapping or Fuel alterations VOID any warranties expressed or implied.  Warranty claims cannot exceed the original labor or component costs.  All installations and any modifications must be performed by BILLET MARINE or have prior WRITTEN consent by BILLET MARINE or any warranty expressed or implied is void.

 IMPORTANT:  This warranty is void unless a BILLET MARINE warranty registration is filled out completely, including vehicle identification number, mileage, date of installation, signed and returned to BILLET MARINE  within ten (10) days of installation to validate the warranty.  The owner must provide, upon request, documentation of normal maintenance performed during the term of the warranty coverage.  BILLET MARINE  makes no other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a purpose, except as otherwise required by the laws of the state to the customer, and shall not be liable for any damages other than those required by law.  This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which may vary from state to state.

 

OUTDRIVES / HIGH PERFORMANCE PARTS

BILLET MARINE warrants to the purchaser that it will replace free of charge, during normal working hours, at the location of purchase or installation, any BILLET MARINE part that is found to be defective in materials or workmanship, before installation, with the exceptions shown below.  The warranty covers replacement of the part only and does not include any labor.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:  parts that are damaged by abuse, neglect, or accident, fluids or towing charges, loss of time, loss of use of vehicle, inconvenience, commercial loss or consequential damages, nor do repairs or replacement extend this warranty beyond the described period from the date of the original installation.

BILLET MARINE makes no other warranties, expressed or implied, other than the warranties of the merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose implied by law, and shall not be liable for any damages other than those provided by law.

This warranty is extended ONLY to the original purchaser and is not transferable.

This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights, which vary from state to state.

 

PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING A WARRANTY CLAIM

  • Call BILLET MARINE for instructions before removing an engine, drive or part or making any type of field repairs.  Please ask for the warranty manager when calling.

 

  • Have the following information available when calling:
  • Part number and production number of the engine
  • Installer’s name and phone number
  • Date and mileage of installation
  • Nature of problems

                  Many times BILLET MARINE  can solve the problem on the phone.

  • If a field repair or engine replacement is necessary, an invoice must be sent with the engine and one mailed to the factory with the above information. BILLET MARINE cannot handle a warranty claim, field repair or engine replacement until the old unit, engine or parts are returned to the BILLET MARINE factory for inspection.  Field repair parts found defective by the factory will be credited at jobber cost.  Engine/drive parts found to be defective by the factory will be credited to the jobber or distributor and labor will be credited as specified in the Engine Limited Warranty Policy upon authorization by BILLET MARINE .
